January 1st, 20105th March 2010 - Played my 3rd Hi 5 event of the year at El Valle, in Murcia, Spain. Had to deal with wet conditions in round 1, along with having to complete the round the following morning. I ended up shooting 75, +4. However, I bounced back in round 2 with 67, -4. Overall, I was pleased with all aspects of my game in the round and feel it is coming together. Round 3 started off a little dissapointing, (I was +3 through 7 holes), I dug in to return a 73, +2. I am now practising at Desert Springs, Almeria, for 3 days in preparation for my 2nd Alps Tour event in Valencia.
21st February 2010 - Returned from Morocco today after my first Alps Tour event of the new season. Fairly pleased with my final position of T19th after a poor start (74 +2 Round 1). It was a tough week due to bad weather conditions on days one and three causing play to be cancelled. The tournament was scheduled for 72 holes, but was reduced to 54. This was only possible by playing 27 holes on days two and four. I felt that my pre-alps preparaton in Spain paid dividends with a stronger finish to the tournament (71, 69 -4 final 2 rounds). Home for six days then back to Spain for 2 more Hi5 events, to be played in Murcia and 1 Alps event in Valencia.
4th February 2010 - My second tournament of pre-season preparation on the Hi5 Tour finished at Valle Del Este Golf Club today. Finishing with rounds of 67, 68, 73 gave me a final position of 2nd (-5). Having gone back to Desert Springs for more practice after Villaitana, I felt that the weaker points of my game had greatly improved and I am looking forward to the start of the Alps Tour season. I’m back home this week and will be putting in some more practice at my home course - Finham Golf Club Coventry, aswell as meeting up with my sponsors Bellagio Granite, before flying out to Morocco on the 11th.
29th January 2010 - Finished my first event of 2010 at Villaitana Golf Club in Spain yesterday. The first day was cancelled due to heavy rain and strong winds, resulting in the tournament being reduced to two rounds with no cut. Round 1 was played in high wind and frequent heavy showers, making it a stern test as this was my first competitive round for 8 week. A score of 75 (+3) put me in T8th position. Day two brought much better weather conditions of light winds and a little sunshine. Taking advantage of these better conditions and the good greens, I shot a score of 70 (-2) which gave me a final position of T5th. I’m now back at Desert Springs working on strengthening areas of my game in preparation for the tournament next week at Valle Del Este.
2010 - January 19th I’m flying to Spain for a week to practice at Desert Springs in Almeria. This is followed by a couple of HI5 Tour events (Villaitana and Valle Del Este), in preparation for the start of the Alps Tour Season in Morocco at the beginning of February. With the weather as it’s been, I am looking forward to getting out on the course and practicing without snow!!
